Campion AFC are delighted to announce that they will host a Bradford City Legends side against a Campion Select XI on Sunday 29th March 2026 at the Anytime Couriers Stadium (2:00pm kick-off).
The special fundraising fixture will support both The Darby Rimmer Foundation and Yorkshire Cancer Research, and will be held in memory of our beloved former secretary of 20 years, Dave ‘Kegsy’ Keegan, who sadly passed away in October 2024 following a short battle with cancer.
Admission on the day will operate on a ‘Pay As You Feel’ basis, with all proceeds donated equally between the two charities. Supporters can also look forward to post-match entertainment in the clubhouse as the club comes together to celebrate Kegsy’s life and legacy.
Commercial & Media Manager Sheridann Dickerson said:
“We are all really looking forward to honouring ‘Kegsy’ by bringing together Campion players of past and present to take on his beloved Bradford City, who I’m led to believe will be fielding some big names. We will start announcing these names imminently.
We would like to thank former Bradford City CEO James Mason for organising the Bradford City Legends side — he has worked tremendously hard in doing so.
We’re hoping to pack the place out, create a fantastic atmosphere, and raise vital funds and awareness for two remarkable charities.”
Campion will be reuniting the historic double-winning squad of 2022/23, who lifted both the West Riding County Cup and the NCEL Division One title, alongside former players who have represented the club at semi-professional level.
The club is also seeking volunteers to assist in all capacities on the day. Anyone wishing to get involved is encouraged to contact sheridann.dickerson@campionafc.com
to express their interest and receive further information.
This promises to be a memorable afternoon of football, community spirit and fundraising — a fitting tribute to a man who gave so much to Campion AFC.
