Club Chairman Richard Helliwell is eagerly anticipating the occasion and the opportunity to once again welcome Bradford City to Manningham Mills.
Campion Chairman Richard Helliwell said:
“Having the opportunity to play a Bradford City XI is a great honour for all of us connected with Campion. Kegsy was the backbone of this club for decades and as a lifelong City fan, it would have meant so much to him to be remembered in this annual fixture.
“Our players get the chance to mix it with City players, and their profile and following will help us both raise much needed funds for the charities that we both support.”
Meanwhile, Sheridann Dickerson reflected on the personal significance of the fixture and the lasting impact Dave Keegan had on his football journey.
Campion AFC General Manager Sheridann Dickerson said:
“We are obviously very much looking forward to welcoming a potentially strong Bradford City side to Manningham Mills in July. Obviously this gives our squad a chance to impress the management in our final pre-season fixture, but it is also in memory of one of the finest footballing men I ever knew, Dave Keegan, who taught me virtually everything I needed to know from an administrational perspective.
“This is a fixture he would have loved to see and I’m sure he’ll be looking down and watching with immense pride.
“This also gives us a chance to showcase our new matchday operations which we will be announcing very shortly as preparations continue for the upcoming season.”
