Campion AFC return to NCEL Premier Division action tomorrow afternoon as we welcome Retford United to the Anytime Couriers Stadium, with Lee Ashforth and James Bicknell’s side looking to return to winning ways following two disappointing results over the past week.

After a 0–3 home defeat to Boldon CA in the FA Vase was followed by a 4–1 defeat away to high-flying Bottesford midweek, Campion will be determined to put those results behind them and produce a positive response in front of the home supporters.

The squad has been boosted by the midweek arrival of Derry Robson, who joins Campion from Doncaster City. The experienced addition brings plenty of quality and know-how to the squad and will provide another valuable option for the management team as the season progresses.

Campion will, however, be without Sam Pashley, who continues to recover from injury. Aside from Pashley, the management team should have a full squad available for selection as they look to get Campion back to winning ways.

Standing in their way is a Retford United side enjoying an excellent start to their campaign. Retford currently sit fourth in the NCEL Premier Division, having collected 16 points from their opening 11 league fixtures.

They also arrive in Bradford with plenty of attacking threat, with Lewis Chambers, Oliver Wilson and Jacob Carter among those to have found the net regularly during the early stages of the season. Campion will need to be at their best defensively while also looking to exploit opportunities at the other end of the pitch.

With the league table beginning to take shape, Campion will be desperate to rediscover their best form and keep the pressure on the teams above them. A strong performance and three points would provide the perfect response to the setbacks of the past week.
