Campion AFC return to NCEL Premier Division action on Wednesday evening as they welcome Golcar United to the Anytime Couriers Stadium, with the hosts looking to continue an outstanding run of form.

Campion come into the fixture in buoyant mood, having won their last six matches in all competitions and remaining unbeaten since early November, when league leaders Liversedge were the last side to take three points from them. Confidence is high within the Campion camp, with momentum building as the season enters a crucial period.

Golcar United arrive in Bradford currently sitting 17th in the table, having collected 22 points from 22 games, but their league position does not tell the full story. The visitors possess attacking threats throughout the side, with George Doyle and Alfie Wilkinson both proven goalscorers capable of changing a game in an instant. Under the guidance of manager Joe Skarz, Golcar are a well-organised outfit and will be desperate to return to winning ways, having not tasted league victory since their 2–0 win over Pickering Town on 22nd November.

Historically, this fixture has been a difficult one for Campion. The hosts have only beaten Golcar once at semi-professional level, that victory coming on the opening day of the season back in July, when Patrick Sykes converted a late penalty to secure all three points. Golcar will be keen to avenge that defeat and add another chapter to what has often been a closely fought encounter.

Wednesday night also carries a personal storyline, as Campion’s Malakai Phillip faces his former club. Phillip made over 100 appearances for Golcar United and was a firm fan favourite during his time there, making this a poignant reunion under the floodlights.

With Campion’s current form, Golcar’s attacking quality, and several intriguing subplots, all the ingredients are in place for a compelling NCEL Premier Division contest.
