Campion return to home soil on Friday night as they welcome Knaresborough Town to the Anytime Couriers Stadium in what promises to be another closely-fought encounter between two well-matched NCEL Premier Division sides.

This will be the third meeting between the clubs at Scotchman Road this season, with honours already shared. The first clash came in the West Riding Senior County Cup First Round, where Knaresborough edged a tight contest 2–1. Campion responded in emphatic fashion in November’s NCEL League Cup, securing a 2–0 victory thanks to goals from Aidan Day and Jahro Parchment, underlining the fine margins that have defined recent meetings.

History suggests Friday night’s contest will be no different. Last season, Campion ran out 3–1 winners at the Anytime Couriers Stadium, with goals from Aidan Kirby, Zak Khan and Robbie Graham, before the reverse league fixture at Knaresborough ended in a hard-fought 0–0 draw.

The very first meetings between the two clubs came during the 2023/24 campaign. Campion earned a 2–2 draw away at Knaresborough, with goals from Stephen Crawford and Aidan Kirby, but were narrowly beaten 1–0 at Scotchman Road in the return fixture, with Sam Cook scoring the decisive goal for the visitors.

Campion come into the game looking to maintain their impressive recent run of form and continue their push up the NCEL Premier Division table. However, they will be well aware of the threat posed by a strong and organised Knaresborough Town side, who have consistently proven to be tough opposition in recent seasons.
