A HAT-TRICK of goals from Eli Hey and a brace from Talent Ndlovu was enough for Campion to see off fellow-promotion hopefuls, Penistone Church in the NCEL Division One.
Hey made it three games on the bounce scoring as he knocked home a triad of goals.
The free-scoring striker drew first blood on the twenty-four-minute mark with a long-range attempt.
The hosts’ lead didn’t last long – Andy Ring levelling up proceedings 60 seconds later, a miss-kicked shot rolling into the bottom right corner.
Penistone piled pressure on throughout the first half, but Campion called on keeper, Danny Armitage and he delivered big, pulling off a plethora of saves and keeping command of his area.
The win allowed the black and reds to pull it back to within seven points from the all-important play-off spots.
Lee Bradshaw played a big part in Hey’s hat-trick earning goal, running half the length of the pitch before slotting the ball in to Hey to tuck home.
Ndlovu showed signs of a rich vein of form, getting himself on the scoresheet twice after scoring his first Campion goal last month.
The welcome three points helped the Bradford side bounce back from a 4-1 loss to Emley last time out.
Campion travel away to Teversal next time out, whilst Penistone welcome Yorkshire Amateur as both clubs aim to kick on and cement a top-six finish.
