Campion clean sheet helps their ease into Cup round two

Yesterday saw Campion AFC play in the opening round of the league cup against a Wibsey side that had already managed to hold the Manningham based team in the opening game of the season.

However a tight game was decided by a single goal from Carl Trenerry whose powerful shot beat a Wibsey keeper who himself had a particularly good game.

In fact 1-0 flattered Wibsey who were lucky that Campion failed to convert a number of chances, much as had been the story in the league game. But importantly the defence stood strong and maintained a well earned clean sheet to guarantee passage through to the next round.
